East Africa safari Kenya and Tanzania JESS@FriendsTravel.com

When you are in search of a consummate East Africa safari — including the Great Migration — join us to experience the very best of Kenya and Tanzania!

There is a reason we call this safari the Pride of East Africa. It’s a grand 2-week adventure that offers epic wildlife encounters in four renowned locations: the #MaasaiMara, #Serengeti, #Ngorongoro Crater and the Ol Pejeta Conservancy.

#EastAfrica is the continent’s #classic #safari destination, replete with iconic scenes: golden #savannas, #giraffes browsing in acacia trees, lion prides roving the plains, and #snowcapped #volcanoes silhouetted against an orange sunset.

Odds are excellent to see the Big Five, including endangered rhinos at Ol Pejeta, a private conservancy dedicated to their restoration.

#Kenya and #Tanzania are where we witness one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on Earth: the annual #wildebeest migration, with herds 2 million strong on the move in search of new grass.

Undoubtedly, these are popular safari destinations. That’s why we ensure your experience stands apart, with closer views of wildlife in a quieter context. With our focus on private conservancies, we avoid huge crowds in national parks.

You will stay at intimate #luxury camps instead of big lodges — including our own private mobile camps, set where wildlife is most prolific. And our guides are as impressive as our itinerary. With their exceptional training and experience, you’ll see and learn far more than on a standard-issue safari.

If your heart is set on East Africa, make it the safari of a lifetime. To join us on a truly amazing adventure:

#Casablanca #Morocco JESS@FriendsTravel.com

Travel to #Morocco:  Best Places to Visit in #Casablanca

Casablanca is the perfect destination, not just for a fun time, but also to experience traditional #Moroccan culture blended with European influences.

Travel to Morocco: Best Places to Visit in Casablanca

The biggest city in Morocco and the country’s economic capital, Casablanca has much to offer and many places to visit during your travel to Morocco.

Despite being the gateway to Morocco as it is the location of the country’s main international airport and the biggest port in the Atlantic, Casablanca is often not on tourists’ travel lists compared to Marrakech, Fez, and Essaouira. However, the city boasts a rich history, exciting culture, and impressive architecture.

The city’s attractions reveal its Amazigh roots, Arab and Islamic heritage, and French colonial past. The blend of cultures and heritages gives the economic capital its unique and diverse atmosphere, with modern skyscrapers overlooking traditional medina alleyways.

Adding to the interlaced cultures, Casablanca offers a great range of art that you can explore in the city, from murals, museums, palaces, ancient buildings, and mosques.

Casablanca might lack the “traditional” touch other Moroccan cities thrive on, but it is definitely worth visiting to explore the country’s diversity and enjoy its charming attributes. These are some of the best places to visit in Casablanca during your travel to Morocco.

La corniche

La corniche, Casablanca
Casablanca’s famous beachfront district, La corniche, is a place you can visit any time of the year, offering various activities to indulge in while enjoying the scenery of the blue Atlantic waters. Located in the Ain Diab suburb near the Hassan II Mosque, the beachfront is a place where a lot of Moroccans and tourists visit for entertainment and leisure.

In La corniche, you will find plenty of luxury hotels and restaurants that provide visitors with amusing activities and delicious Moroccan dishes or fast food of your choice. There are also beach clubs, bars, exclusive nightclubs, and swimming pools for those who prefer splashing and playing games at the pool.

Many will also enjoy walks along the palm-lined road to the public beach, where you can have a swim or a relaxing picnic while watching the sea and the sunset.

Mahkama du Bacha, Casablanca
#Mahkama du Bacha is Casablanca’s court of justice and a place for state reception, as well as a great Instagrammable spot in Morocco and a must-visit during your trip to the commercial capital.

Built between 1941 and 1942 in Quartier Habous, the court was designed by the French architect Auguste Cadet and built with a traditional style, using zellige and Moorish design, multi-foil arches, and cedar timber, with an octagonal fountain and orange trees.

Formerly the bacha’s (governor’s) residence, Mahkama du Bacha is one of the best places to visit to observe the diverse culture of Casablanca with its European design and Moorish-Andalusian architecture.

Cathedral du Sacre-Coeur is a beautiful Roman Catholic church on Boulevard Rachid, Casablanca. The white-washed building is a blend of European and Moroccan architectural styles, making it one of the best places to visit in Casablanca.

Designed by the French architect Paul Tournon, the captivating church was built in 1930 and restored in 1956, ending its religious function and becoming a cultural center and the site of many art exhibitions.

Cathedral du Sacre-Coeur is also open to tourists wanting to explore its beautiful architecture, high twin towers, colorful stained glasses, and unique interior design.

Hassan II mosque, Casablanca
Located right on the Atlantic shoreline on Boulevard Mohammed Ben Abdullah, Casablanca’s Hassan II Mosque is the third-largest mosque in the world and one that is open to non-Muslim visitors. Built in 1993, the captivating mosque covers two hectares and has a 200-meter tall minaret.

Besides the outstanding panoramic view of the Atlantic Ocean that the mosque overlooks, it also has stunning Islamic architecture with unique designs, hand-carved ceilings, horseshoe arches, chandeliers, intricate woodcarvings, and colorful zellige. The mosque was built to hold 25,000 worshippers inside and 80,000 in its marble courtyard.

The location and the architecture of Hassan II Mosque give a peaceful and calm atmosphere for worshippers and make it one of the best places for tourists to visit to learn more about the history and culture of Casablanca and Morocco.

Quartier Hubous

Places to visit in Casablanca, Quartie Hubous
Built in the 1930s by the French, Quartier Hubous is also known as the new medina. Just as appealing as other Moroccan medinas, this is a place you must visit in your travel to Casablanca, with its Moroccan and French architectural style and design.

In Quartier Hubous, you can explore the souk, where you can purchase a variety of products such as spices, olives, dates, rugs, leather goods, and traditional clothes. The family-owned Patisseries Bennis bakery is a must-visit in the district for some of the best sweet treats.

The location is also home to Morocco’s Ministry of Islamic Affairs as well as many bookstores and famous publishing houses. The new medina is a tourist attraction for its blend of Moorish architecture and modern design, with white buildings, street cafes where you can enjoy Moroccan tea, and local restaurants where you can indulge in Morocco’s traditional dishes.

Museum of Moroccan Judaism

The Museum of Moroccan Judaism, Casablanca
Established in 1997, the Museum of Moroccan Judaism is the only Jewish museum in the Arab world. It showcases 2000 years of history, religion, culture, and lifestyle of the Moroccan Jewish civilization through exhibitions of art including paintings, ornaments, traditional clothes, and tools.

Casablanca has a Jewish population of between 2,000 and 4,500 people and has many Kosher restaurants, community centers, and a Jewish school.

Once a Jewish orphanage, the Museum of Moroccan Judaism is a grand villa with multiple exhibition rooms. The museum also symbolizes Morocco’s diversity and reveals how the Jewish community influenced Moroccan society and history, making it one of the best places to visit in Casablanca.

Place Mohammed V

Place Mohammed V, Casablanca
Place Mohammed V is the administrative square in Casablanca, surrounded by important official buildings such as the court of justice, the central post office, the French consulate, and the central bank of Morocco, all built with a Moorish style under the vision of the first French resident-general in Morocco to modernize the city in the 20th century.

The square is a favored spot among locals to take a walk and hang out. It also has a huge clock tower, an urban contemporary grand theater, a fountain that was built in 1976, a well-kept green garden, and a statue of the French Marshal Hubert Lyautey.

Place Mohammed V is a great place to visit in Casablanca for its interesting attractions, photogenic spots, dramatic architecture, beautiful greenery, and flocks of pigeons that add a unique and attractive atmosphere.

Morocco Sahara Desert Camel Safari some you will remember the rest of your life! And if you have kids traveling with you, imagine their “show and tell” at school with their friends!

Parc Sindibad

Parc Sindibad, Casblanca

Being Morocco’s largest city and commercial capital, Casablanca has many places to visit for entertainment, and Parc Sindibad is definitely one of the most interesting and fun spots where people of all ages can have a great experience.

Located at the west end of Ain Diab beach near Morocco Mall, Parc Sindibad has always been a favorite for locals and a destination for great fun. Due to financial problems in the 2000s, the park was closed and opened again in 2012 after the establishment of a beach resort.

In the park, you can enjoy 24 different rides, including the park’s famous “Le serpent” and other thrills. The park also has attractions such as a small zoo, a karting track, and fast food restaurants.

Despite not being a popular tourist destination for its perceived lack of “authentic” medinas and cultural spots, Casablanca’s mix of modern and traditional styles, which can be seen all around the city, offers a great experience where you can explore Morocco’s diverse history, culture, and beauty, and have fun at the same time.

Moroccan food is based on French Cuisine mixed with Exotic Arabic.

Kenya: Rapid Rail Link to Nairobi Airport Opens JESS@FriendsTravel.com

Rapid Rail Link to Nairobi Airport Opens

It now takes around 20 minutes from the centre of Nairobi to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

Kenyan Transport Cabinet Secretary, James Macharia, officially launched the new rail link this week – the JKIA Express Service – noting that it was an extension of the Nairobi commuter rail service upgrade project that would alleviate congestion on the Kenyan capital’s road system.

The entire project was announced last year and was undertaken by French companies in conjunction with the Kenyan government.

It followed the signing of a memorandum of understanding by Kenya’s President, Uhuru Kenyatta, and his French counterpart, President Emmanuel Macron, during the latter’s first visit to Kenya last year.

The French government is funding the project.

Air passengers will pay KES500 (€3) for the trip from Nairobi Railway Station to the airport.

Africa Safari Buy Out Programs JESS@FriendsTravel.com

Safari Company’s Offering Full Bush Camp Buyouts so You Can Create a Travel Bubble for your Family or Friends.

African Safari Camps have created a new way for you to visit luxury properties around Africa.

Travel is most certainly changing, but Safari companies are rolling with the punches to still offer travelers a chance to see the world.

Africa Safari companies have announced new travel bubble program, which allows families and small groups to purchase buyouts of each bush camps across #Botswana, #Zimbabwe, and #Zambia. Pricing based on 10 adults sharing a bush camp. Plus applicable #DiscountAirfare First, Business, Coach, or Private Jet Charter.

We also offer the traditional Safari where you join others, but still in a small group. And Family and Friends Safari.

Imagine you and your fellow travelers surrounded by #Zambia’s Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, a short distance from the #Victoria Falls, with a buyout of a River Lodge. Or relaxing along the banks of a lagoon that flows into the Khwai River at Tented Camp in #Botswana. Or indulging in an ‘armchair safari’ beneath the shade of a mahogany tree at Kanga Camp in the most remote part of the #UNESCO World Heritage Site, Mana Pools National Park, in #Zimbabwe.

Guests can choose to experience any one of these travel visions for themselves and up to 10-16 Friends and Family in some camps. And really, we are using the word “camp” loosely as each destination comes with modern tents and full hotel-style amenities including indoor / outdoor showers, oversized wraparound decks on each tent, and more.

As part of the buyouts, guests will also take part in game drives, guide-led walking safaris, birding outings, mokoro (dugout canoe) trips, cultural visits, and just have the chance to sit out and watch the wildlife go by graciously.

When staying at one camp isn’t enough, guests may also choose to buyout multiple camps and connect to each one via a private charter plane to minimize health risks.

There is so much adventure and plenty of space to go around in the African bush. We want group travelers to know that a buyout is a great way for them to experience it safely and at great rates, with all of the exquisite comforts and authentic adventures that our team works so hard to provide.

Egypt 2nd best scuba diving destination for 2nd year in row JESS@FriendsTravel.com

#Egypt has once again been named the second-best #scuba #diving destination, according to Dive Travel magazine’s 2020 poll.

The magazine said on Wednesday, 11 11 2020, that Egypt has maintained its position since 2019, once again commanding a large proportion of the vote, and that there was “a lot of enthusiasm for a nation that has seen its beleaguered tourist industry suffer a number of setbacks over the last decade.”

“With its crystal clear blue waters, year-round sunlit, cloudless skies, vibrant coral and a good range of big to little critters to delight over, the Egyptian Red Sea is not just one of the world’s best diving destinations, but the birthplace of a great many love affairs with the underwater world,” the magazine added.

“Regular visitors will no doubt be pleased to see two Egyptian centers making the Top 10 for the first time in 2020”, the magazine added.

Winners of the 2020 DIVE Travel Awards are the outcome of a poll that covers 108 different destinations, 329 liveaboards and almost 1,100 different dive centers and resorts, with over 11,000 nominations and 30,000 votes cast over six months, the magazine explained.

“It’s been a tough year for the dive industry. It’s been a tough year for the world in general.”  BUT we will prevail and we will be traveling and diving again in 2021.

NOW is the time to make travel arrangements.

“We wondered if we should even run a travel awards, but in the end, we decided we wanted to celebrate the best of the best, keep the conversation going, and do our little bit to keep people #enthusiastic about #travel and #scuba #diving. Thank you everybody who participated; we could never have done it without you, and we’re keeping our fingers crossed that we’ll all be wearing proper masks as soon as possible!”.

#Indonesia topped the #DIVE Travel list for the fourth year in a row, with #Malaysia placing third after #Egypt, followed by #Philippines, #Maldives, #Fiji, #Australia, #Mexico, #Thailand, and #Papua #New #Guinea. We have dive travel packages to everyone of them!

“As Kenya Tourism Board we have had an association with golf for a long time now because we believe in its ability to increase our tourism brand visibility globally and thereby attract tourists into the country. We will continue to be part of the sport to ensure that it achieves greater goals.”

The Kenya Tourism Board has previously sponsored golf events and is the activating agency of the #Magical #Kenya #Open #Golf Championships which is part of the #elite #European #Tour.

This key event is held annually and preceded by the local #Safari #Golf #Tour which allows professional players and amateurs an opportunity to prepare for their participation at the Magical Kenya Open.

These events have been crucial in profiling Kenya’s as a golfing destination. The Magical Kenya Open has attracted top international golfers from Europe and other parts of the world who have always expressed their love for the destination.

This has gone a long way to increase the destination’s global visibility. Kenya is home to the only PGA course in the region, Vipingo Ridge which has been the host of the Magical Kenya ladies open for the last two years.
